USS Houston & Naval History

Veteran Day
The story of the USS Houston (CA-30) is one of the most heroic of World War II. The Houston was the flagship of the Asiatic Fleet when she and the HMAS Perth engaged an entire Japanese battle fleet in the Battle of Sundra Strait. When the Perth sank the Houston fought on alone, inflicting heavy damage on the enemy before sinking on March 1, 1942.
